The Union County Panthers basketball squad (Blairsville, GA), was nudged 59-52 in Friday's league battle with the visiting Ringgold Tigers (Ringgold, GA)
With the victory, Ringgold advances its record to 8-6 on the year. The Tigers host Sonoraville (Calhoun, GA) to meet the Phoenix in a AA Region 7 battle on Tuesday, January 7. The Phoenix enter the battle with a record of 13-2. Sonoraville won 95-25 in their recent league battle against Rockmart (Rockmart, GA)
The Panthers now own a 9-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Fannin County for a non-league battle on Saturday, January 4. Union County will meet a Rebels squad coming off a 57-38 non-league loss to Gilmer (Ellijay, GA). The Rebels record now stands at 9-2.
