Texas High School Basketball - Rivera holds off Weslaco East

January 3, 2025: Weslaco, TX 78596

The Rivera Raiders basketball team scored 41 points and limited the host Weslaco East Wildcats to 38 in the Raiders league triumph on Friday.

The Raiders now possess a 17-12 record. They play next when they travel to Harlingen South for a 5A Region IV District 32 game on Tuesday, January 7. Rivera will confront a Hawks team coming off a 54-11 league win over Donna North (Donna, TX). The Hawks record now stands at 19-5.

With the loss, Weslaco East falls to 3-17 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Pace (Brownsville, TX) to confront the Vikings in a 5A Region IV District 32 game on Tuesday, January 7. The Vikings go into the game with a record of 9-14. Pace lost 41-33 in their recent league game against Mercedes (Mercedes, TX)
