Rockcastle County Rockets (Mt. Vernon, KY) supporters left the game happy Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the visiting Somerset Briar Jumpers (Somerset, KY), 73-34 in a league match.

With the victory, Rockcastle County advances its record to 7-5 on the year. The Rockets travel to Lincoln County (Stanford, KY) to face the Patriots in a non-league match on Monday, January 6. The Patriots enter the match with a record of 4-5.

The Briar Jumpers now own a 3-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Pulaski County for a District 47 match on Saturday, January 4. Somerset will face a Maroons squad coming off a 51-34 non-league win over Whitefield Academy (Louisville, KY). The Maroons record now stands at 8-4.
