Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Union Area routs Springdale

In Friday's non-league contest, the host Union Area Scotties basketball team scored a big 58-11 triumph over the Springdale Dynamos.

The Scotties (10-0) will now prepare for their contest against St. Joseph (Natrona Heights, PA). The Spartans go into the WPIAL 1A 1 contest with a 7-3 record. In their last contest, St. Joseph was trounced by Aquinas Academy (Gibsonia, PA), 50-31, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Dynamos battle the Sewickley Academy (Sewickley, PA) in a WPIAL 1A 1 contest, on Wednesday, January 8. Springdale will attempt to better on its 3-7 season record. The go into the contest with a 3-4 record after their 37-27 league win over Western Beaver (Industry, PA).
