North Carolina High School Basketball - West Wilkes triumphant over Wilkes Central

January 3, 2025: Wilkesboro, NC 28697

The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the West Wilkes Blackhawks (Millers Creek, NC) and the host Wilkes Central Eagles (Wilkesboro, NC), observed West Wilkes's basketball team overwhelm Wilkes Central by a margin of 61-22.

The Blackhawks (5-7) will now prepare for their challenge against North Wilkes (Hays, NC). The Vikings come into the 2A Foothills challenge with a 12-1 record. In their last challenge, North Wilkes trounced Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC), 46-35, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Eagles battle the East Surry Cardinals (Pilot Mountain, NC) in a 2A Foothills challenge, on Tuesday, January 7. Wilkes Central will attempt to better on its 2-10 season record. The Cardinals come into the challenge with a 7-3 record after their 49-46 league loss to North Surry (Mount Airy, NC).
