The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Croatan Cougars (Newport, NC) and the host Southside Seahawks (Chocowinity, NC), observed Croatan's basketball team overwhelm Southside by a margin of 67-44.

The Cougars (3-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Lejeune (Camp Lejeune, NC). The Devil Pups come into the non-league challenge with a 4-3 record. In their last challenge, Lejeune was trounced by Lakewood (Roseboro, NC), 56-44, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Seahawks battle the Ayden - Grifton Chargers (Ayden, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, January 6. Southside will attempt to better on its 1-6 season record. The Chargers come into the challenge with a 7-1 record after their 78-65 league loss to Greene Central (Snow Hill, NC).
