The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the South Columbus Stallions (Tabor City, NC) and the host East Columbus Gators (Lake Waccamaw, NC), observed South Columbus's basketball team overcome East Columbus by a margin of 54-43.

The Stallions (4-2) will now prepare for their challenge against West Columbus (Cerro Gordo, NC). The Vikings come into the non-league challenge with a 0-7 record. In their last challenge, West Columbus dropped by Whiteville (Whiteville, NC), 45-29, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Gators battle the Whiteville Wolfpack (Whiteville, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 7. East Columbus will attempt to better on its 1-6 season record. The Wolfpack come into the challenge with a 1-2 record after their 45-29 non-league win over West Columbus (Cerro Gordo, NC).
