The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Independence Patriots (Charlotte, NC) and the visiting Garinger Wildcats (Charlotte, NC), observed Independence's basketball team overwhelm Garinger by a margin of 68-33.

The Patriots (11-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Providence (Charlotte, NC). The Panthers come into the challenge with a 1-7 record. In their last challenge, Providence was trounced by Pinecrest (Southern Pines, NC), 58-54, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Wildcats battle the Charlotte Catholic Cougars (Charlotte, NC) in a challenge, on Tuesday, January 7. Garinger will attempt to better on its 0-8 season record. The Cougars come into the challenge with a 12-2 record after their 36-33 league win over Rocky River (Mint Hill, NC).
