In Friday's league contest, the visiting Mesa Verde Mavericks basketball team scored a big 57-10 triumph over the San Juan Spartans.

The Mavericks (7-7) will now prepare for their contest against Highlands (North Highlands, CA). The Scots go into the contest with a 0-4 record. In their last contest, Highlands was trounced by Mira Loma (Sacramento, CA), 63-36, in a non-league battle.

The Spartans now own a 1-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Rio Vista for a battle on Tuesday, January 7.
