Virginia High School Basketball - Oscar Smith can't hold off Western Branch

Western Branch Bruins (Chesapeake, VA) supporters left the game happy Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting Oscar Smith Tigers (Chesapeake, VA), 70-68 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Western Branch advances its record to 6-1 on the year. The Bruins travel to King's Fork (Suffolk, VA) to face the Bulldogs in a non-league match on Friday, January 10. The Bulldogs enter the match with a record of 5-0.
The Tigers now own a 6-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Catholic for a non-league match on Saturday, January 4. Oscar Smith will face a Crusaders squad coming off a 68-64 non-league win over Nansemond River (Suffolk, VA). The Crusaders record now stands at 2-2.
