Poquoson Islanders (Poquoson, VA) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Arcadia Firebirds (Oak Hall, VA), 47-44 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Poquoson upgrades its record to 4-15 on the season. The Islanders travel to New Kent (New Kent, VA) to play the Trojans in a Bay Rivers bout on Wednesday, February 1. The Trojans go into the bout with a record of 13-7. New Kent won 76-53 in their recent league bout against Jamestown (Williamsburg, VA)

Next up, the Firebirds play the Nandua Warriors (Onley, VA) in a Eastern Shore bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Arcadia will attempt to upgrade on its 7-10 season record. The Warriors go into the bout with a 11-4 record after their 71-63 non-league win over Pocomoke (Pocomoke, MD).
