The Gowanda Panthers basketball team scored 48 points and restricted the visiting Cassadaga Valley Cougars to 41 in the Panthers league victory on Monday.

The Panthers now sport a 8-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Falconer for a Section 6 Chautauqua/Cattaraugus - I East contest on Thursday, February 2. Gowanda will battle a Golden Falcons team coming off a 62-26 league loss to Randolph (Randolph, NY). The Golden Falcons record now stands at 10-4.

The Cougars (5-12) will now prepare for their contest against Frewsburg (Frewsburg, NY). The Bears come into the Section 6 Chautauqua/Cattaraugus - I East contest with a 11-4 record. In their last contest, Frewsburg edged Silver Creek (Silver Creek, NY), 53-34, in a league contest.
