Waconia Wildcats (Waconia, MN) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Chaska Hawks (Chaska, MN), 86-83 in a league bout.

With the win, Waconia upgrades its record to 5-10 on the season. The Wildcats host Chanhassen (Chanhassen, MN) to clash with the Storm in a AAAA Section 2 bout on Thursday, February 2. The Storm go into the bout with a record of 8-8. Chanhassen won 88-67 in their recent non-league bout against New Prague (New Prague, MN)

Next up, the Hawks clash with the Benilde-St. Margaret's Red Knights (St. Louis Park, MN) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, February 2. Chaska will attempt to upgrade on its 5-10 season record. The Red Knights go into the bout with a 13-3 record after their 78-59 league win over Orono (Long Lake, MN).
