The Sibley East Wolverines basketball team (Arlington, MN), was nudged 69-64 in Monday's non-league battle with the host Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Thunderbirds (Winthrop, MN)
The Thunderbirds now possess a 10-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Minnesota Valley Lutheran for a non-league battle on Thursday, February 2. Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop will confront a Chargers team coming off a 69-43 league win over Springfield (Springfield, MN). The Chargers record now stands at 13-3.
The Wolverines (5-14) will now prepare for their battle against Belle Plaine (Belle Plaine, MN). The Tigers come into the AA Section 2 battle with a 10-5 record. In their last battle, Belle Plaine was nudged by Waseca (Waseca, MN), 82-69, in a league battle.
