Salmon River Savages (Riggins, ID) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Meadows Valley Mountaineers (New Meadows, ID), 47-44 in a league bout.

With the victory, Salmon River upgrades its record to 5-11 on the campaign. The Savages travel to Horseshoe Bend (Horseshoe Bend, ID) to play the Mustangs in a 1A Long Pin bout on Friday, February 3. The Mustangs come into the bout with a record of 10-10. Horseshoe Bend lost 65-39 in their recent league bout against Cascade (Cascade, ID)

Next up, the Mountaineers play the Cascade Ramblers (Cascade, ID) in a 1A Long Pin bout, on Monday, February 6. Meadows Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 0-12 season record. The Ramblers come into the bout with a 10-6 record after their 65-39 league win over Horseshoe Bend (Horseshoe Bend, ID).
