Swain County Maroon Devils (Bryson City, NC) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Nantahala Hawks (Topton, NC), 70-31 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Swain County upgrades its record to 10-10 on the season. The Maroon Devils travel to Murphy (Murphy, NC) to clash with the Bulldogs in a 1A Conference 43 - Big bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 11-8. Murphy won 74-56 in their recent league bout against Robbinsville (Robbinsville, NC)

Next up, the Hawks clash with the Blue Ridge Early College Bobcats (Cashiers, NC) in a 1A Conference 43 - Little bout, on Friday, February 3. Nantahala will attempt to upgrade on its 2-12 season record. The Bobcats go into the bout with a 3-14 record after their 75-41 non-league win over Summit Charter (Cashiers, NC).
