Bland County Bears (Rocky Gap, VA) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Grayson County Blue Devils (Independence, VA), 52-34 in a league bout.

With the win, Bland County upgrades its record to 8-11 on the season. The Bears travel to Narrows (Narrows, VA) to clash with the Green Waves in a non-league bout on Wednesday, February 1. The Green Waves go into the bout with a record of 8-10. Narrows won 45-26 in their recent non-league bout against Giles (Pearisburg, VA)

Next up, the Blue Devils clash with the George Wythe Maroons (Wytheville, VA) in a Mountain Empire bout, on Friday, February 3. Grayson County will attempt to upgrade on its 6-12 season record. The Maroons go into the bout with a 15-5 record after their 56-49 non-league loss to Blacksburg (Blacksburg, VA).
