The Melissa Cardinals basketball team (Melissa, TX), was overwhelmed 59-24 in Monday's league battle with the host Denison Yellow Jackets (Denison, TX)
The Yellow Jackets now possess a 14-15 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Greenville for a 5A Region II District 13 battle on Friday, February 3. Denison will confront a Lions team coming off a 45-39 league win over Melissa (Melissa, TX). The Lions record now stands at 3-23.
The Cardinals (9-23) will now prepare for their battle against Princeton (Princeton, TX). The Panthers come into the 5A Region II District 13 battle with a 19-10 record. In their last battle, Princeton was overwhelmed by McKinney North (McKinney, TX), 62-38, in a league battle.
