Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Fort Hill Sentinels (Cumberland, MD) and the host Preston Knights (Kingwood, WV), saw Fort Hill's basketball squad hold off Preston by a tally of 52-51.

With the victory, Fort Hill improves its record to 5-6 on the campaign. The Sentinels host Mountain Ridge (Frostburg, MD) to confront the Miners in a Appalachian Mountain challenge on Wednesday, February 8. The Miners come into the challenge with a record of 13-4.

Next up, the Knights confront the Lincoln Cougars (Shinnston, WV) in a Big Ten challenge, on Wednesday, February 1. Preston will attempt to improve on its 6-13 season record. The Cougars come into the challenge with a 7-10 record after their 54-39 league loss to Philip Barbour (Philippi, WV).
