Freeport Falcons (Freeport, ME) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting York Wildcats (York, ME), 53-40 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Freeport upgrades its record to 6-9 on the season. The Falcons host Gray-New Gloucester (Gray, ME) to clash with the Patriots in a A South bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Patriots go into the challenge with a record of 11-2. Gray-New Gloucester won 40-35 in their recent non-league challenge against Lake Region (Naples, ME)

Next up, the Wildcats confront the Poland Knights (Poland, ME) in a B South challenge, on Tuesday, January 31. York will attempt to improve on its 4-8 season record. The Knights come into the challenge with a 0-9 record after their 54-44 league loss to Oak Hill (Sabattus, ME).
