The Gwinn Modeltowners basketball team scored 36 points and held the host Manistique Emeralds to 29 in the Modeltowners non-league triumph on Monday.

The Modeltowners now sport a 5-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Ishpeming for a Mid-Peninsula contest on Wednesday, February 1. Gwinn will battle a Hematites team coming off a 53-31 league win over Iron Mountain (Iron Mountain, MI). The Hematites record now stands at 9-4.

The Emeralds (3-12) will now prepare for their contest against Iron Mountain (Iron Mountain, MI). The Mountaineers enter the non-league contest with a 0-12 record. In their last contest, Iron Mountain was nudged by Ishpeming (Ishpeming, MI), 53-31, in a league contest.
