North Carolina High School Basketball - Ashbrook thwarts Shelby

The Ashbrook Greenwave (Gastonia, NC) basketball knocked off the visiting Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC), 36-24 in Monday's non-league test.

The Greenwave (11-6) will now prepare for their test against North Gaston (Dallas, NC). The Wildcats go into the non-league test with a 1-12 record. In their last test, North Gaston went down by Kings Mountain (Kings Mountain, NC), 67-31, in a league test.

The Golden Lions now own a 8-8 record. They play next when they host East Gaston for a non-league test on Friday, February 3. Shelby will encounter a Warriors squad coming off a 78-55 non-league win over Bessemer City (Bessemer City, NC). The Warriors record now stands at 3-12.
