The East Wilkes Cardinals basketball team scored 53 points and held the host Starmount Rams to 28 in the Cardinals non-league triumph on Monday.

The Cardinals now sport a 13-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Alleghany for a non-league contest on Tuesday, January 31. East Wilkes will battle a Trojans team coming off a 46-29 non-league loss to North Stokes (Danbury, NC). The Trojans record now stands at 0-12.

The Rams (9-8) will now prepare for their contest against Elkin (Elkin, NC). The Buckin' Elks enter the non-league contest with a 8-11 record. In their last contest, Elkin was routed by Surry Central (Dobson, NC), 40-32, in a non-league contest.
