Southwood Cowboys (Shreveport, LA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Benton Tigers (Benton, LA), 71-64 in a league bout.

With the win, Southwood upgrades its record to 20-7 on the season. The Cowboys travel to Captain Shreve (Shreveport, LA) to play the Gators in a 5A District 1 bout on Wednesday, January 31. The Gators go into the bout with a record of 21-5. Captain Shreve lost 55-54 in their recent league bout against Airline (Bossier City, LA)

Next up, the Tigers play the Captain Shreve Gators (Shreveport, LA) in a 5A District 1 bout, on Friday, February 2. Benton will attempt to upgrade on its 13-14 season record. The Gators go into the bout with a 22-5 record after their 51-31 league win over Southwood (Shreveport, LA).
