Buckeye Panthers (Buckeye, LA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Bunkie Panthers (Bunkie, LA), 32-28 in a league bout.

With the win, Buckeye upgrades its record to 25-0 on the season. The Panthers host Marksville (Marksville, LA) to play the Tigers in a 3A District 2 bout on Friday, February 2. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 15-14. Marksville won 61-43 in their recent league challenge against Bolton (Alexandria, LA)

Next up, the Panthers confront the Sacred Heart Trojans (Ville Platte, LA) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, February 1. Bunkie will attempt to improve on its 8-13 season record. The Trojans come into the challenge with a 13-14 record after their 62-50 league loss to North Central (Lebeau, LA).
