Burleson Elks (Burleson, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Joshua Owls (Joshua, TX), 59-38 in a league bout.

With the win, Burleson upgrades its record to 14-19 on the season. The Elks travel to Midlothian (Midlothian, TX) to clash with the Panthers in a 5A Region I District 8 bout on Friday, February 2. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 19-10. Midlothian won 47-28 in their recent league bout against Joshua (Joshua, TX)

Next up, the Owls clash with the Cleburne Yellowjackets (Cleburne, TX) in a 5A Region I District 8 bout, on Friday, February 2. Joshua will attempt to upgrade on its 5-21 season record. The Yellowjackets go into the bout with a 4-22 record after their 82-49 league loss to Centennial (Burleson, TX).
