Calais Blue Devils (Calais, ME) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Jonesport-Beals Royals (Jonesport, ME), 56-42 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Calais upgrades its record to 12-3 on the season. The Blue Devils travel to Sumner (East Sullivan, ME) to clash with the Tigers in a C North bout on Thursday, February 1. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 6-10. Sumner lost 54-44 in their recent league bout against Mattanawcook (Lincoln, ME)

Next up, the Royals clash with the Shead Tigers (Eastport, ME) in a D North bout, on Thursday, February 1. Jonesport-Beals will attempt to upgrade on its 9-6 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 6-11 record after their 84-20 league win over East Grand (Dansforth, ME).
