South Rebels (Willoughby, OH) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Chardon Hilltoppers (Chardon, OH), 68-52 in a league bout.

With the win, South upgrades its record to 7-7 on the season. The Rebels host Mayfield (Mayfield, OH) to play the Wildcats in a Western Reserve bout on Friday, February 2. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 2-13. Mayfield lost 66-60 in their recent league bout against Riverside (Painesville, OH)

Next up, the Hilltoppers play the North Rangers (Eastlake, OH) in a Western Reserve bout, on Friday, February 2. Chardon will attempt to upgrade on its 4-9 season record. The Rangers go into the bout with a 9-6 record after their 60-50 league win over Kenston (Chagrin Falls, OH).
