The Chester Yellowjackets basketball team (Chester, TX), was nudged 47-45 in Tuesday's league battle with the host Zavalla Eagles (Zavalla, TX)
The Eagles now possess a 4-16 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Leggett for a 1A Region IV District 28 battle on Friday, February 2. Zavalla will battle a Pirates team coming off a 69-35 league win over Goodrich (Goodrich, TX). The Pirates record now stands at 23-7.
The Yellowjackets (9-19) will now prepare for their battle against Brookeland (Brookeland, TX). The Wildcats come into the 1A Region IV District 28 battle with a 22-7 record. In their last outing, Brookeland held off Burkeville (Burkeville, TX), 73-33, in a league outing.
