Columbus Cardinals (Columbus, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Hallettsville Brahmas (Hallettsville, TX), 58-57 in a league bout.

With the win, Columbus upgrades its record to 16-9 on the season. The Cardinals travel to Tidehaven (El Maton, TX) to play the Tigers in a 3A Region IV District 25 bout on Friday, February 2. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 5-8. Tidehaven lost 44-37 in their recent league bout against Yoakum (Yoakum, TX)

Next up, the Brahmas play the Industrial Cobras (Vanderbilt, TX) in a 3A Region IV District 25 bout, on Friday, February 2. Hallettsville will attempt to upgrade on its 13-16 season record. The Cobras go into the bout with a 10-17 record after their 70-52 league loss to Edna (Edna, TX).
