St. Pius X Panthers (Houston, TX) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Concordia Lutheran Crusaders (Tomball, TX), 71-70 in a league bout.

With the victory, St. Pius X upgrades its record to 15-13 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Central Catholic (San Antonio, TX) to play the Buttons in a TAPPS 6A District 2 bout on Friday, February 2. The Buttons come into the bout with a record of 12-16. Central Catholic lost 76-64 in their recent league bout against Antonian Prep (San Antonio, TX)

Next up, the Crusaders play the St. Thomas Catholic Eagles (Houston, TX) in a TAPPS 6A District 2 bout, on Friday, February 2. Concordia Lutheran will attempt to upgrade on its 7-19 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 13-15 record after their 66-64 league win over Village (Houston, TX).
