Poteet Pirates (Mesquite, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Conrad Chargers (Dallas, TX), 46-33 in a league bout.

With the win, Poteet upgrades its record to 16-8 on the season. The Pirates travel to Seagoville (Dallas, TX) to play the Dragons in a 5A Region II District 12 bout on Friday, February 2. The Dragons go into the bout with a record of 19-9. Seagoville won 78-33 in their recent league bout against Spruce (Dallas, TX)

Next up, the Chargers play the West Mesquite Wranglers (Mesquite, TX) in a 5A Region II District 12 bout, on Friday, February 2. Conrad will attempt to upgrade on its 13-15 season record. The Wranglers go into the bout with a 21-7 record after their 64-44 league win over North Mesquite (Mesquite, TX).
