Menominee Maroons (Menominee, MI) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Escanaba Eskymos (Escanaba, MI), 77-76 in a league bout.

With the victory, Menominee upgrades its record to 11-3 on the campaign. The Maroons travel to Marquette (Marquette, MI) to play the Redmen in a Great Northern U.P. bout on Friday, February 2. The Redmen come into the bout with a record of 12-3. Marquette won 70-60 in their recent non-league bout against Westwood (Ishpeming, MI)

Next up, the Eskymos play the Kingsford Flivvers (Kingsford, MI) in a Great Northern U.P. bout, on Friday, February 2. Escanaba will attempt to upgrade on its 7-7 season record. The Flivvers come into the bout with a 14-2 record after their 78-50 non-league win over Norway (Norway, MI).
