Texas High School Basketball - George West succumbs to Taft

January 30, 2024: George West, TX 78022

The Taft Greyhounds topped the host George West Longhorns basketball team by a final score of 86-68 in Tuesday's league game.

In their next game, the Greyhounds face the Aransas Pass Panthers (Aransas Pass, TX) in a 3A Region IV District 29 game, on Friday, February 2. Taft will attempt to move on its 19-12 season record. The Panthers enter the game with a 14-16 record after their 45-39 league win over Goliad (Goliad, TX).

With the defeat, George West moves to 13-15 on the year. The Longhorns travel to Mathis (Mathis, TX) to face the Pirates in a 3A Region IV District 29 game on Friday, February 2. The Pirates enter the game with a record of 14-13. Mathis won 42-34 in their recent league outing against Odem (Odem, TX)
