    The Granbury Pirates (Granbury, TX) basketball nipped the host Northwest Texans (Justin, TX), 61-54 in Tuesday's league test.

    The Pirates (15-8) will now prepare for their test against Saginaw (Saginaw, TX). The Rough Riders go into the 5A Region I District 5 test with a 23-7 record. In their last test, Saginaw got by Azle (Azle, TX), 93-40, in a league test.

    The Texans now own a 9-22 record. They play next when they travel to Rider for a 5A Region I District 5 test on Friday, February 2. Northwest will encounter a Raiders squad coming off a 77-61 league loss to Granbury (Granbury, TX). The Raiders record now stands at 8-18.
