Groveton Eagles (Groveton, NH) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host White Mountains Spartans (Whitefield, NH), 60-51 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Groveton upgrades its record to 9-6 on the campaign. The Eagles host Colebrook Academy (Colebrook, NH) to play the Mohawks in a Division IV bout on Friday, February 2. The Mohawks come into the bout with a record of 6-9. Colebrook Academy lost 67-53 in their recent league bout against Gorham (Gorham, NH)

Next up, the Spartans play the Winnisquam Bears (Tilton, NH) in a Division III bout, on Thursday, February 1. White Mountains will attempt to upgrade on its 8-7 season record. The Bears come into the bout with a 5-8 record after their 44-33 league loss to Kearsarge (North Sutton, NH).
