The Grulla Gators basketball team (Rio Grande City, TX), was overwhelmed 69-26 in Tuesday's league battle with the host Port Isabel Tarpons (Port Isabel, TX)

The Tarpons now possess a 23-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Hidalgo for a 4A Region IV District 32 battle on Friday, February 2. Port Isabel will confront a Pirates team coming off a 87-14 league win over Harmony School of Innovation (Brownsville, TX). The Pirates record now stands at 14-15.

The Gators (6-13) will now prepare for their battle against Zapata (Zapata, TX). The Hawks come into the 4A Region IV District 32 battle with a 6-16 record. In their last battle, Zapata trounced Raymondville (Raymondville, TX), 52-43, in a league battle.
