The Melbourne Bearkatz (Melbourne, AR) basketball knocked off the host Hoxie Mustangs (Hoxie, AR), 56-41 in Tuesday's league test.
The Bearkatz (13-10) will now prepare for their test against Newport (Newport, AR). The Greyhounds go into the 3A Region 2 test with a 4-19 record. In their last test, Newport went down by Tuckerman (Tuckerman, AR), 64-55, in a league test.
The Mustangs now own a 6-13 record. They play next when they host Walnut Ridge for a 3A Region 2 test on Thursday, February 1.
