In Tuesday's league outing, the Vinita Hornets (Vinita, OK) basketball squad edged the visiting Jay Bulldogs (Jay, OK), by a count of 44-38.

The Hornets (4-15) will now prepare for their outing against Miami (Miami, OK). The Wardogs go into the Verdigris Valley outing with a 6-9 record. In their last outing, Miami held off Oologah (Oologah, OK), 41-35, in a league outing.

The Bulldogs now hold a 5-11 record. They play next when they travel to Grove for a non-league outing on Thursday, February 1. Jay will clash with a Ridgerunners squad coming off a 71-40 league loss to Booker T. Washington (Tulsa, OK). The Ridgerunners record now stands at 3-12.
