Onekama Portagers (Onekama, MI) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Leland Comets (Leland, MI), 51-36 in a league bout.

With the win, Onekama upgrades its record to 9-6 on the season. The Portagers host Benzie Central (Benzonia, MI) to play the Huskies in a Northwest bout on Thursday, February 1. The Huskies go into the bout with a record of 12-2. Benzie Central won 71-36 in their recent league bout against Kingsley (Kingsley, MI)

Next up, the Comets play the Buckley Bears (Buckley, MI) in a Northwest bout, on Thursday, February 1. Leland will attempt to upgrade on its 3-11 season record. The Bears go into the bout with a 9-7 record after their 68-48 league loss to Glen Lake (Maple City, MI).
