The Lone Star Rangers (Frisco, TX) basketball felled the host Newman Smith Trojans (Carrollton, TX), 65-50 in Tuesday's league test.

The Rangers (25-3) will now prepare for their test against The Colony (The Colony, TX). The Cougars go into the 5A Region II District 9 test with a 24-4 record. In their last test, The Colony thwarted Frisco (Frisco, TX), 66-56, in a league test.

The Trojans now own a 16-8 record. They play next when they travel to Turner for a 5A Region II District 9 test on Friday, February 2. Newman Smith will encounter a Lions squad coming off a 53-40 league loss to Reedy (Frisco, TX). The Lions record now stands at 15-12.
