Marquette Redmen (Marquette, MI) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Westwood Patriots (Ishpeming, MI), 70-60 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Marquette upgrades its record to 12-3 on the season. The Redmen host Menominee (Menominee, MI) to play the Maroons in a Great Northern U.P. bout on Friday, February 2. The Maroons go into the bout with a record of 11-3. Menominee won 77-76 in their recent league bout against Escanaba (Escanaba, MI)

Next up, the Patriots play the Manistique Emeralds (Manistique, MI) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 2. Westwood will attempt to upgrade on its 7-9 season record. The Emeralds go into the bout with a 5-9 record after their 46-36 league win over Gwinn (Gwinn, MI).
