In Tuesday's league match, the host Penobscot Valley Howlers basketball team scored a good 58-48 triumph over the Mattanawcook Lynx.
In their next game, the Howlers meet the Lee Academy Pandas (Lee, ME) in a non-league match, on Thursday, February 1. Penobscot Valley will attempt to move on its 7-8 season record. The Pandas enter the match with a 4-11 record after their 71-37 league loss to Schenck (East Millinocket, ME).
With the defeat, Mattanawcook moves to 12-4 on the year. The Lynx travel to George Stevens Academy (Blue Hill, ME) to meet the Eagles in a C North match on Saturday, February 3. The Eagles enter the match with a record of 13-3. George Stevens Academy won 68-43 in their recent league match against Narraguagus (Harrington, ME)
