Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Smith Valley Bulldogs (Smith, NV) and the host Mineral County Serpents (Hawthorne, NV), saw Smith Valley's basketball squad knock off Mineral County by a tally of 73-65.

With the victory, Smith Valley improves its record to 16-3 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Sage Ridge (Reno, NV) to play the Scorpions in a 1A West challenge on Friday, February 2. The Scorpions come into the challenge with a record of 5-14. Sage Ridge lost 62-22 in their recent league challenge against Virginia City (Virginia City, NV)

Next up, the Serpents play the Pyramid Lake Lakers (Nixon, NV) in a 1A West challenge, on Thursday, February 1. Mineral County will attempt to improve on its 14-9 season record. The Lakers come into the challenge with a 11-10 record after their 56-31 league win over Excel Christian (Sparks, NV).
