The Northeast Lauderdale Trojans ran past the host Newton County Cougars basketball team by a final score of 64-54 in Tuesday's league game.
In their next game, the Trojans face the West Lauderdale Knights (Collinsville, MS) in a 4A Region 4 game, on Thursday, February 1. Northeast Lauderdale will attempt to move on its 17-7 season record. The Knights enter the game with a 19-4 record after their 85-57 league loss to Choctaw Central (Philadelphia, MS).
With the defeat, Newton County moves to 7-14 on the year.
