Texas High School Basketball - Veterans Memorial thwarts Seguin

The Veterans Memorial Patriots (San Antonio, TX) basketball knocked off the host Seguin Matadors (Seguin, TX), 70-58 in Tuesday's league test.

The Patriots (31-1) will now prepare for their test against Wagner (San Antonio, TX). The Thunderbirds go into the 5A Region IV District 26 test with a 19-9 record. In their last test, Wagner notched a victory over Tivy (Kerrville, TX), 68-64, in a league test.

The Matadors now own a 13-15 record. They play next when they travel to Canyon for a 5A Region IV District 26 test on Friday, February 2. Seguin will encounter a Cougars squad coming off a 60-57 league loss to Smithson Valley (Spring Branch, TX). The Cougars record now stands at 7-23.
