Coronado Mustangs (Lubbock, TX) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Abilene Eagles (Abilene, TX), 61-42 in a league bout.

With the victory, Coronado upgrades its record to 10-21 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Wylie (Abilene, TX) to play the Bulldogs in a 5A Region I District 4 bout on Friday, February 2. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 18-12. Wylie won 60-33 in their recent league bout against Lubbock (Lubbock, TX)

Next up, the Eagles play the Lubbock-Cooper Pirates (Lubbock, TX) in a 5A Region I District 4 bout, on Friday, February 2. Abilene will attempt to upgrade on its 17-14 season record. The Pirates come into the bout with a 21-9 record after their 86-34 league win over Coronado (Lubbock, TX).
