North Carolina High School Basketball - Central Academy knocked off by Anson

January 30, 2024: Wadesboro, NC 28170

The Anson Bearcats basketball team scored 29 points and held the visiting Central Academy Cougars to 11 in the Bearcats league triumph on Tuesday.

The Bearcats now sport a 6-13 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Parkwood for a 2A/3A Rocky River contest on Friday, February 2. Anson will battle a Wolf Pack team coming off a 51-49 league loss to West Stanly (Oakboro, NC). The Wolf Pack record now stands at 10-9.

The Cougars (0-17) will now prepare for their contest against Piedmont (Monroe, NC). The Panthers enter the 2A/3A Rocky River contest with a 11-8 record. In their last contest, Piedmont was defeated by Forest Hills (Marshville, NC), 54-51, in a league contest.
