Appleton North Lightning (Appleton, WI) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Oshkosh North Spartans (Oshkosh, WI), 65-59 in a league bout.

With the win, Appleton North upgrades its record to 11-9 on the season. The Lightning travel to Kimberly (Kimberly, WI) to play the Papermakers in a Fox Valley bout on Friday, February 2. The Papermakers go into the bout with a record of 16-3. Kimberly won 61-50 in their recent league bout against Oshkosh West (Oshkosh, WI)

Next up, the Spartans play the Neenah Rockets (Neenah, WI) in a Fox Valley bout, on Thursday, February 1. Oshkosh North will attempt to upgrade on its 7-13 season record. The Rockets go into the bout with a 16-4 record after their 64-27 league win over Appleton East (Appleton, WI).
