The Axtell Eagles basketball team (Axtell, KS), was overwhelmed 53-23 in Tuesday's non-league battle with the host Doniphan West Mustangs (Highland, KS)

The Mustangs now possess a 10-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Clifton-Clyde for a non-league battle on Friday, February 2. Doniphan West will battle a Eagles team coming off a 50-49 non-league loss to Concordia (Concordia, KS). The Eagles record now stands at 11-3.

The Eagles (6-6) will now prepare for their battle against Valley Heights (Blue Rapids, KS). The Mustangs come into the non-league battle with a 8-4 record. In their last battle, Valley Heights was overwhelmed by Hanover (Hanover, KS), 59-37, in a non-league battle.
